Pocket 03:21
Step in the pocket A heart shaped locket That I’ll wear around my neck forever A walk in the park with my star in the dark Shining like a light at the end of the tunnel I’ll give you a ticket for exceeding the limit Of originality, obviously you’ll get a citation for your sanitization of all the shit the world keeps slinging and we’re singing falalala And I can stare into your sunshine without hurting my eyes Imaginary friends in 36 flavors that won’t melt in your mouth Or in your hands cause you understand me Irish spring showers whatever the hour Gentle honey dew I love you A kiss in the rain, slightly insane what it’s bringin and we’re singing falalala

Faerie Reign 04:44
Please don’t speak to me In words that I can understand the hand you bite, it feeds you language lost, fingers crossed you’re going nowhere fast what a blast couldn’t last the clock is ticking there’s a hole from what you stole and now the lies are coming up from the ocean take what you need and watch 'em bleed there’s always someone with their finger on the trigger got your finger on the trigger don’t ya? I’m a peg but please don’t put me in my place I’m real gay but don’t want your rainbow in my face don’t confuse perversion with my good intentions put on a happy face to erase the rejection language lost, fingers crossed you’re going nowhere fast what a blast could it last? the clock is ticking

Bordertown 03:12
You've stepped into a bordertown A message from a passing clown/frown Just read the faces on the street There's a new shooting every week They'll shoot your mule and they'll fuck your mother They'll steal your purse and they'll choke your chickens In the bordertown

This year for Christmas instead of mistletoe I’ve got a Christmas list and I’ve let Santa know yes, I’ve got a Christmas list and I’ve let Santa know This year for Christmas I want justice I don’t want to wait give it to me now Underneath the tree, can you please leave for me a hammer that can break a bank monopoly? a needle that can sew a giant tax loop hole? a key that’s meant to jail a bank too big to fail? Cause this year for Christmas I want justice I don’t want to wait give it to me now In this year’s stocking I’m hoping you will bring a revolution that can make the people sing. A blanket that can hold, a child in the cold A candle that unites and leads a righteous fight! Cause this year for Christmas I want justice I don’t want to wait, give it to me now

about

Bay Area trio Super Natural delivers a unique and and delightfully listenable blend of sixties folk, eighties punk and new wave, nineties indie rock and the timeless themes of love, hate, greed, justice, revolution and struggle. The rich but sometimes edgy vocals and songwriting of Antonette Goroch, combined with the tight and sassy rhythms of Danny Lovefinger on bass and Gregory Coates Piper on drums, juxtapose traditional folk themes and melodies with simple punk power chords, warm gentle distortion and riot grrrl sensibilities--generating diverse comparisons from Mazzy Star, Liz Phair, Kristin Hersch, Penelope Houston and Neko Case to X, Fairport Convention and Pavement.

The band’s self-titled debut 5-song digital EP/CD, Super Natural, touches both personal and political with equal measures passion and irreverence. The lighthearted “Pocket” embodies that oh-so-sweet moment of blossoming infatuation—with dreamy guitars, seductive rhythms and gentle harmonies conjuring a chemistry undeniable, irresistible and universal. “There’s a Hole” rocks with distorted guitars and relentless intensity for the trails of destruction carved by the lies of the powerful. “Faerie Reign”, meanwhile, marches dark minor chords with drugged and hazy despair to lonely places of the mind, where doubts shriek and resonate like mythic furies. With echoes of eighties punk and guy/girl vocals ala X, “Bordertown” is an all power chord battle cry for the absurdities that divide the many in favor of the few. Ending strong in both hook and message, “Justice for Christmas” is a populist anthem for the Occupy Generation—equal parts rock and revolution, the song reflects an unflinching demand for a better world, and an infectious optimism it can actually be achieved.
